Just recently a battle took place in Greater Faydark between the Faydark Champions and the Orcs of Crushbone. It appears as though the Orcs attacked in response to a build up of forces by the Elves in Greater Faydark. Ran Sunfire tells us:

We'd heard that they were assembling troops, we just didn't expect they'd attack us. It seemed foolish for them to come into the forest in force when they could defend that crappy cave of theirs forever with a small number of elite troops."

It was only through the valiant efforts of heroes and the elves themselves that prevented total disaster. They turned back the Orcs, but only after devastating loses.

Our High Elven friends tell us that they built their forces and supplies with the intention of sending them to whatever location they were needed. Tension on Antonica can be felt even in Greater Faydark, and their concern over events near Freeport caused them to take precautions not unlike our own here in Gukta.

Many in the area also claim to have seen Dark Elves with the Orcs, leading to several branches of wild speculation that are not backed up by any evidence and are, therefore, unworthy of print here in the Inquirer.

Obviously this attack will delay the preparation of troops. Ran Sunfire had this comment:

At this time we just don't know how long it will be before we will be able to move out. Much of our supplies were also destroyed, so even if we were healthy we wouldn't be ready for a long march for a while."
