The Collected Lore of Norrath
Every piece of EverQuest lore we’ve collected — game manuals, books (in-game and out), official articles, NPC dialogue, and more. Cross-linked and searchable.
The Pantheon
The gods who made — and cursed — the world

Innoruuk
God of hate; creator of the dark elves from corrupted elves.

Tunare
Nature goddess; creator and mother of the elves.

Cazic-Thule
God of fear; ally of Innoruuk in the evil pantheon.

Brell Serilis
Creator of the dwarves (first) and the gnomes (second).

Rallos Zek
God of war; ally of Innoruuk and Cazic-Thule; patron of the Rallosian races (ogres, orcs, trolls, goblins).

Bristlebane
God of mischief; Brell's close ally, honored alongside Brell in a shared temple in gnomish Ak'Anon.
Karana
God of storms, weather, and the wilds, revered by farmers and rangers.
Mithaniel Marr
God of valor and honor, twin brother of Erollisi Marr, patron of paladins.
The Peoples
Mortal races and the deities that shaped them

Dark Elf
Innoruuk's elves of Neriak.

Dwarf
Brell's first creation; short, strong, proud, bearded miners and warriors. The 'true children of Serilis.' Live in the underground city of Kaladim beneath the Butcherblock Mountains.

Gnome
Brell's second creation, after the dwarves; wiry, clever, knee-high tinkerers with an innate skill for gadgets and machinery. Their city Ak'Anon is ruled by a mechanical king. Neutral; centered on Tinkering.

Half Elf
Human-Elf hybrids; taller and stronger than elves but often shunned by both parent races. Found mainly in Kelethin and Surefall Glade.

High Elf
Tunare's elves of Felwithe.

Ogre
A playable EQ race of giant warriors, soldiers of the Rallosian army. Their low intelligence is canon, but WHY (made dim vs. cursed-to-lose-it) is a contested EQ1/EQ2 split.

Wood Elf
Tunare's elves of Kelethin.
Aerakyn
An EQ2 draconic race created by the Awakened dragon faction by combining dragon and mortal bloodlines through arcane techniques pioneered by the Iksar archmage Atrebe Sathir.
The World
Zones and places you can stand in

Ak'Anon
The ancient, mechanized gnome city on Faydwer — half fortress, half laboratory — southeast of the Faydark, adjacent to Steamfont Mountains. Ruled by the mechanical King Ak'Anon. (Ripped in the atlas.)

Castle Mistmoore
The maze-like stronghold of the ancient dark elf vampire Mayong Mistmoore, off Lesser Faydark.

Crushbone
The ring-shaped citadel of the warmongering Crushbone orc clan, directly north of Kelethin; the major military threat to all of Faydwer. Holds elf and dwarf slaves in its slave pits.

Everfrost Peaks
Frozen Antonican zone; 2008 EQ1 lore (Seeds of Destruction) retroactively frames it as frozen by the curse on the ogres.

Faydwer
The easternmost continent of classic EQ; home to gnomes, dwarves, and wood elves, plus the high elves who relocated from Antonica. Named by the high elves when they landed on its shores.

Felwithe
The pristine high elf city in the southeastern corner of Greater Faydark; renowned for its magnificent architecture. (Becomes 'New Tunaria' in EQ2 canon.)

Greater Faydark
The vast, perpetually-dark forest at the heart of Faydwer; home of the wood elves (Kelethin) and the high elves (Felwithe), and the newbie area for wood, high, and half elves. Near the dwarf and gnome lands.

Kaladim
The underground dwarven city of Faydwer; its entrance, a huge carved dwarf statue, opens onto the Butcherblock Mountains. Houses the main temple to Brell Serilis.
Powers, Figures & Ages
Factions, named figures, events, and the in-world eras they move through

The Rathe (Rathe Council)
Thirteen earth-attuned demigods born of the union of Prexus's and Brell's creations; they cursed the ogres for warring on the gods. One was slain, leaving twelve — fightable as a raid in Planes of Power.
Aataltaal
High elf military commander who founded and ruled the city of Landing (later Freeport) after the fall of the Combine Empire, then deliberately disappeared to allow its human majority to govern themselves.
Aerin'dar
Crystalline dragon who once roamed the Plane of Valor, struck down by a storm and corrupted by planarian larvae that infested its body and turned its pure heart to evil.
Akelha'Ra
Akelha'Ra was a high priestess and leader of the Akheva on Luclin, an immortal entity created by the mistress of shadow (EQ2 canon).
Al'Kabor
Described as the greatest living Erudite wizard, renowned as a frequent companion and powerful ally to Firiona Vie, and old enough to have battled the Heretics to defend Erud's great library.
Al'Kabor
Al'Kabor is a prominent and arrogant Erudite wizard of great power who appears throughout EQ1 lore, associated with the Qeynos hills region and antagonistic toward Erudite Heretics.
Alissa Felwithe
Koada'Dal hero who led her people to Faydwer after the destruction of the Elddar forest and helped secure the Greater Faydark as the new homeland of Tunare's Children; the city of Felwithe is named after her.
Ambassador Dvinn
A dark elf ambassador to Emperor Crush — the link between the Crushbone orcs and the dark elves of Neriak.
