Many learned practitioners of the dark arts noticed a strange disturbance recently. "It was a powerful intrusion into the world of the dead," explained one necromancer. By all reports this could only have been the result of exceptional necromantic power.

An apparently unrelated event might be linked to this sensation of accessed necromantic power. Reports indicate that there was a group of High Elves spotted in Innothule Swamp. The reports also claim the same group of adventurers that killed Bortar Ripkiller was protecting the High Elves while they performed a necromantic ritual.

No one knows what they were trying to produce or if they were successful. The Guktans claim that the ritual has tainted their swamp. There are also sightings of a large humanoid rising from the swamp upon completion of the ritual. All of this circumstantial evidence could be used to form a conclusion, but we are only reporters here at the Register. We leave the speculation in the hands of the experts.
