~ Attack on Neriak! ~

Recently, a group of adventurers attacked and killed Bortar Ripkiller, the leader of Clan Grobb. The Trolls of Clan Grobb will probably be incensed over this event and riots are certain to occur. This is one of several tragedies that have befallen Clan Grobb, the largest clan of Trolls on Norrath. Recently, as many know, their city was taken from them by military force and they were driven to take refuge in the Dark Elven city of Neriak.

The motivation for this assault is unclear and reaction to it has been violent. Reliable sources report that all but the most powerful of Dark Elves have left the Foreign Quarter of Neriak for their own safety.

Citizens of Rivervale have had mixed reactions to this news. Many were just too busy or plainly unconcerned over what happens in Neriak. A few, mostly those who have experienced trouble at the hands of Trolls or Dark Elves, were pleased to hear of the death of the Troll warlord and the potential for upheaval in Neriak. The most common response, however, was more moderate. Billy Softfoot gave us a representative reply, "As long as they are fighting each other, we have little to worry about."

It is that time of year again when JumJum Cakes are plentiful at Grum Snagglefoot's Bakery. This year promises to house many new variations and even a few surprises. When Grum was asked more about this he said, "We'll see."
