The Advent of Oblivion

One must ever be watchful of the creature they call Oblivion in the northern wastes of Sunderock. It is an sticky ooze of unimaginable proportions and while few have seen it and lived, it is rumored to have grown because of an ancient artifact lost to the Direwind Gnolls.

Among the lands of Sunderock where the Direwind Gnolls live and work on their dark arts, are a number of artifacts and totems used to summon foul winds and disease. It is thought that a traveling ooze absorbed one of these artifacts which changed it forever, allowing it to grow and expand.

Some believe the gnolls purposely fed the ooze an evil artifact and assumed they could control it. But Oblivion is not to be controlled, only to be avoided. Some even believe that Oblivion might be the watchful eye of Bertoxxulous, the Plaguebringer.

There is no telling if the ooze's growing is done or if its power is fully realized, but all the same it wanders endlessly. The few who have seen it feel drawn to its core.
