DoNCultBook1Troll
The savage, enraged, brutal Troll that most people accept as the typical Troll is, indeed, the typical Troll. Trolls do have their own traditions and legends. Signs and prophecy are very important to them, and much of their motivation as a society is driven by these portents. Trolls are born of the god of Fear, Cazic-Thule, and his influence can be seen everywhere in their lives. All of these influences make symbols and insignia very important in Troll society. It is, for example, very handy to be able to recognize a powerful shaman even if you do not know that shaman personally. Trolls have developed simple, recognizable symbols for the most important parts of their society and these volumes describe those symbols in great detail.
This book discusses the symbols of current Troll society. It looks at all of the current prophecies and signs in great detail (many of which have never been discussed in a written form before, for fear that others would see them and attempt to alter the future that they predict). It follows the core symbols of these prophecies and looks at how Trolls have included them in their society.
Among the pages of discussion about these symbols is a pattern. This pattern uses the signs of modern Troll prophecy to create a symbol that is potent for any Troll that sees it. You know that you will be able to reproduce this pattern many times before the book becomes worn and you must replace it.
To create pattern for tailoring armor templates based on these patterns you will need this book, a large bottle of ink, a roll of vellum, a quill and a compacted backpack to hold the patterns you will make. You'll also need a book binding to do the work.
