A small-scale battle broke out over the moist grounds of Innothule several days ago. The attack was lead by military forces of Gukta, who claim to have attacked a group of cultists who were performing dark rituals in the swamp. The Guktans underestimated their foes and were defeated, suffering a humiliating number of casualties against such a small force of enemies. We spoke to one of the few Guktan survivors

We were under orders to stop these dark worshipers at any cost. When my wave of troops was ordered to attack, we rushed forward only to find ourselves met by the fierce blades and magic of the cultists. Even on the cusp of battle it was easy to tell these were mercenaries. . . well armed and well experienced mercenaries. They were of all different races and bore no markings or symbols of a sovereign city, but they were protecting High Elves. That's the weird part, it was High Elves doing the dark magic ritual."

The representatives of Gukta we spoke to were unwilling to comment as to what the cultists did to provoke such a response. They only assured us that their actions were warranted and that these cultists managed to escape with their prize into the depths of the swamp.
