Tensions Rise in the Eastern Cities

Attack on the citizens of Freeport have continued since our last report. The forces of the Dark Elves appear relentless in their aggression. We are reminded of the statement printed in the last edition of the Inquirer, "They can throw any amount of us at this problem, but I don't think it's going to go away just like that. We'll just have to wait and see what those damned Dark Elves have planned."

It seems likely that the Dark Elves have motives other than causing problems for the citizens of Freeport? In a statement given to the press about the situation, Militia Captain Hazran said:

It just doesn't make sense. They know we can send enough men to destroy their camps even without assistance from the Temple. So setting their men up there looks like a suicide mission planned by idiots. Say what you want about the inkies, they aren't stupid."

With the fear of war spreading the Elders have called on the citizens of Gukta to prepare for the worst and gather resources. Lokta Elder Sigig cautions that we should not assume that this action is anything more than a wise precaution. Our proximity to Neriak and the shifty nature of the Dark Elves makes preparations the logical course. Perhaps we will be able to lend assistance to the Humans should they need it.

Although there has not been any report of suspicious activity here, be alert and don't panic. As always, we will continue to give news as it arises.
