~ Attack on Neriak! ~

A powerful group of adventurers has attacked and killed Bortar Ripkiller, the leader of Clan Grobb. The Trolls of Clan Grobb are incensed and riots are very likely in their host city. This is one of several tragedies that have befallen Clan Grobb, the largest clan of Trolls on Norrath. Recently, as many know, their city was taken from them by military force and they were driven to take refuge in the Dark Elven city of Neriak.

The motivation for this assault is unclear and reaction to it has been violent. Reliable sources report that all but the most powerful of Dark Elves have left the foreign quarter where the Trolls live for their own safety. As for the adventurers that assaulted the dark city, they could not be found for comment and their motivation may never be clear.

Reaction to these events in Qeynos is generally positive. Many citizens responded in a manner similar to those made by Flynn Merrington.

I have to admit that I drank a toast to thems that did it. Crow's was alive with talk about it and one of them cleric types even bought a round for the house to celebrate. Evil gets what it deserves, if'n ya ask me."

No member of Clan Grobb nor any official from the city of Neriak could safely be contacted for comment on this matter.

~ Amateur Night at Fish's Ale ~

Fish Ranamer, proprietor of Fish's Ale, has announced that Thursday evening will be amateur night. The format is open, meaning that anyone with a talent that they would like to show off is welcome to participate. The crowd will vote on the winner, who will have his bar tab for the evening paid for by Fish himself.

Fish Ranamer told us that the event is meant to improve the class of customer that visits his establishment.

I figure that if'n some folks wants to sing or play the flute they're more than welcome. If some folks is entertained then it's worth lettin' someone drink for free."
