Ran Sunfire made that comment while being healed by one of her fellow Faydark Champions. Blood stained the ground everywhere we could see. Orcs and Elves lie unmoving all about on the soft grass of the Faydark. Nobody seemed capable of understanding what had happened or why, but from the various testimonies we have been able to piece together some of it.

Through the efforts of several independent and world-weary Koada'Dal and Feir'Dal, the thoughts of the elves became focused on the growing concern about war on Antonica. Council was given, preparations made, and the Elves decided to unite and have a contingent ready to send wherever they might be needed.

As supplies grew in the storehouses of Kelethin, the Elven contingent assembled under the shadow of the city. Ran Sunfire tells us that they were prepared to march when the Orcs of Clan Crushbone attacked.

We'd heard that they were assembling troops, we just didn't expect they'd attack us. It seemed foolish for them to come into the forest in force when they could defend that crappy cave of theirs forever with a small number of elite troops. We should have known that they were too stupid to take advantage of their terrain."

The presence of Dark Elves among the Orc raiders was not surprising to experienced rangers, but it has made many suspicious about the tactics used by the Orcs. No matter what their logic, the Orcs assault cost many lives and has certainly delayed the Elves in their plans.

At this time we just don't know how long it will be before we will be able to move out. Much of our supplies were also destroyed, so even if we were healthy we wouldn't be ready for a long march for a while."

Miss Sunfire looked downcast and concerned as she stood up and walked off holding her broken left arm to her side while trying to soothe the concerns of her people.

There are groups in the city with plans to find ways to help out should other battles loom. As of this printing those groups are still organizing and we have little information for you, but we encourage you to find the leaders of such groups and do your duty as a citizen of Qeynos to help out where you can.
