Dark Elven Incursion

The Dark Elves have begun a series of bold attacks against the citizens of Freeport. From their camps in Nektulos and the Commonlands, these dark menaces have attacked and killed anyone that they have come across, from merchants to members of the Freeport Guard. Little is known as to the reason for these attacks, but then who expects to understand why Dark Elves do what they do?

The Freeport Guard is increasing its presence in the area, though even they don't seem very confident that it will help. One member of the guard, who wished to remain anonymous, told us that he was more than a little frightened.

I don't see why we don't just pull back to the walls. Them inkies have the advantage on us out there, especially at night. It's foolish to tromp around out there trying to hunt them down just so some silly merchants don't have to move their shops into the city. Why should we protect them that choose to live out there? "

Our very own Sheriffs have increased their vigilance. Sheriff Roglio told us:

We don't take it for granted that those stinkers are not going to try to pull the same sort of thing here. We're ready for them and we won't sit and take it like the Humans are. We learned a long time ago that we have to take the fight to the Dark Elves if we want them to respect us. If they poke their noses into our homes we'll bite them off then go looking for more. That reminds me, have you seen my lunch basket?"

We have been asked to advise the good folk of Rivervale to avoid travel through the Commonlands until this disturbance resolves itself.
