Avatar

An avatar is an extension or proxy of a god, used as a representative, messenger, and/or battlefield leader. No mere elite servants, avatars are directly formed from a piece of a god's own divine essence; they share their parent deity's knowledge, personality, and (much lesser versions of) their abilities.

Avatars most often manifest physically in forms identical to those of the gods themselves, though perhaps smaller. There are exceptions, however, such as Coirnav, who bear unique forms and somewhat separate identities. Though they are much weaker than their creators and have been bested by mortals in numerous cases, avatara are still immensely powerful beings with awe-inspiring presence.
