The Master of the Scale

A small band of militant drakkin, appointed by the Circle of the Crystalwing in Crescent Reach, set off to Spine Peak and Ashengate Temple to reclaim Veeshan's Scale for all of dragon kind. The militants named themselves the Crusade of the Scale.

Growing in numbers as they traveled, word of the militants soon reached Dyn'leth. While he was not fearful of losing his command of the scale, he was certainly annoyed by it. He had been building his empire completely unopposed for many years.

Using drakkin who he had enslaved, he ordered the construction of a pair of enormous stone statutes to guard the entrance to Ashengate Temple. These guardian statues pulverize any creature who attempts to pass who does not bear a star-shaped seal.
