Troll Internal Conflict Resolved?
Shar Vahl Tribune:: }-------------------------} Vol. 9 No. 6 ~ Troll Internal Conflict Resolved? ~
Allied spies abroad are reporting that the Troll situation in Neriak appears to be quelling.
Following the demise of Bortar Ripkiller, the foreign quarter of Neriak became violent and disorderly. Many had anticipated that Clan Grobb would collapse without formal leadership, but the situation appears to have resolved itself. For days, the Trolls have been fighting each other for power of the Clan. Just as it seemed they might destroy themselves, a clear victor emerged and seized control of Clan Grobb. All is quiet in Neriak tonight, for worse or for better."
Civil wars are typically watched very carefully by foreign powers. Not because of concern for the parties involved, but for who the victor could be. Can we expect foreign policy to continue from one regime to the other? Is intervention by neighboring regimes necessary or troublesome? In the case of the Trolls, did the Teir'Dal intervene? What does this recent change mean for the Trolls? More importantly, what does this mean for Norrath or even Luclin? These questions and more were asked to local Shar Vahl inhabitants.
Tajie Karaf had this to say about the Trolls. "If we're lucky, the Trolls will turn on the Dark Elves and push them out of Neriak. Let the Dark Elves spend the coming season in Nektulos."
Merchant Ahlam did not appear interested in the politics, but suggested that he was happy that the Trolls had regained order. "I've been in search of some new exotic goods from Nektulos Forest and the Trolls have what I'm looking for. Hey, business is business and I'm just trying to make a living. Leave politics to the politicians."
