Tribes at War -- Minohten and Tuffein Satyrs
Tribes at War -- Minohten and Tuffein Satyrs
Satyrs have always lived peacefully in the Serpent Spine Mountains away from the hustle and bustle of the lowlands where other mortals lived. For a time, they traded and learned from the Elddar elves in the forests to the south, but then retreated to a solitary and peaceful existence. In the beginning, the satyrs were one clan called Minohten led by the noble Nicoli.
When the drakkin arrived on the landscape soon after the Nest became corrupted by mortals, conflict arose among the Minohten. One group of satyr came to be led by Devan due to his convincing rhetoric that suggested they should kill any of this new race of drakkin on sight. Surely their arrival on the landscape was a threat to their existence.
Devan's supporters also felt they should kill any drakkin on site as aberrations and intruders on their lands. Chief Nicoli maintained that the satyr remain peaceful and welcome the drakkin as partners in the world, a new ally. He was content to continue as they were and not get involved.
Devan disagreed so much that he took his supporters across the lands to the east of the Goru'kar Mesa to form a new tribe called the Tuffein Clan. They were very hostile to the new drakkin and would raid Crescent Reach now and then to test their mettle. Oddly, as much as the Tuffein abhor outsiders, there is one beast that visits them at night on rare occasions, taking struggling cloaked creatures away with it.
The satyrs whispers of an unsavory alliance between an evil commander in the mountains to the north and the Tuffein. It would seem the Tuffein exchange drakkin they capture for freedom, solitude, and protection.
As time marches on, and as is the nature of the satyrs, they became restless. They have taken to playing trick and pranks on one another's villages.
